It seems only fitting that we start with a little intro to Sunset Hill Aussies.

Every Aussie Has a Story, a Personality, and a Whole Lot of Moxie 🐾

If you’ve ever wondered what life looks like behind the scenes at Sunset Hill Aussies - picture a whole lot of wiggles, zoomies, big hearts, and even bigger personalities. Our Aussies aren’t just dogs - they’re family, helpers, comedians, cuddle buddies, and the heartbeat of our home.

💛 The Dogs That Make our Family Complete

Every great program begins with a foundation dog who steals your heart - and ours have done precisely that. From the sweet, nurturing mamas to the confident, clever young girls stepping into future roles, each Aussie brings something special to our family. They’re smart, loyal, goofy, and always ready for an adventure.

🐶 If My Dogs Had A Theme Song:

Insight into how my husband and I amuse ourselves with all these dogs in our home:

• Nan- Toys R Us Theme song- sing with me "I don't want to grow up.... there's a million things that I can play with."

• Maggie- "I'm Late" from Alice and Wonderland: She's so sweet and obedient, but never in a rush to do anything hahaha

• Pepper- "Jump" by Van Halen- so self-explanatory!

• Star -"Walking on Sunshine" by Katrina and the Waves -if you don't know it, Google it, and give it a listen... it'll be in your head for days- you're welcome.

• Piper- "Every Breath You Take" -by The Police, truthfully could be a theme song for every Aussie on earth

• Moxie- "Brown Eyed Girl" by Van Morrison or "Foxie Lady" by Jimi Hendrix - I have such great memories of belting out Brown Eyed Girl after getting my driver's license- windows down, radio blasting.

• Ruby- "Here Comes The Sun" by the Beatles- she's just so bubbly

• Oakley- "Can't Stop The Feeling!" by Justin Timberlake- I don't even like JT, but IYKYK that this song is too perfect for The Oakster, aka Sir Oakley, Boots, Mr Party Pants LOL

• Tiny- Pretty much any of Frank Sinatra, Céline Dion, or Berry White songs-- Tiny is just a hopeless romantic. The extent he goes to just to whoo a girl, hahahaha, always cracks us up!

• Sapphire- "Pretty Woman" by Roy Orbison. Again, dating myself to one of my all-time fav high school movies...well, that and Breakfast Club.

• Nugget- "Girls Just Want to Have Fun" by Cyndi Lauper, seriously, my middle school years were spent coming home after school, eating chocolate-covered potato chips, and belting this song so many times- of course, all while standing on the couch and holding my fake microphone. 💛 Personalities as Colorful as Their Coats

If you’ve ever met an Aussie, you know no two are alike. We’ve got:

• the playful rule-breakers - Nugget wins cutest while being naughty

• the gentle snuggle bugs - definitely Moxie & Piper!

• the thinkers who study everything- Pepper for sure!

• the showoff- Pepper, again.

• the ones that think EVERYONE is automatically their BFF- Nan, Oakley & Piper every time- Nugget is coming in on this one too!! She's a hoot! ..and, If you have come to my home, you know- Nan greets EVERYONE

• most likely to nurse a squirrel LOL- but seriously, Star & Nan would do this in a heartbeat!!

• the wiggliest butt- Ruby, hands down!

• the ones that LOVE water!- Nan & Sapphire

• the one most likely to watch out the window for hours- Maggie

• the ones who believe fetch is a full-time job- Oakley & Pepper win this title HANDS DOWN- for real, they'll do anything for a tennis ball. I actually have to hide the balls so they can't see them.

• the raspberry thief- Ruby, & she has now taught Pepper, Piper & Moxie to do the same-- They poke their noses through our garden fence and pick-your-own raspberries

• the heat & AC vent hog- Tiny & Sapphire every single time!

🌄 Life at Sunset Hill

Whether we’re out for a hike, tending the property, playing fetch in the yard, or just enjoying a sunset (our favorite time of day), our dogs are right at our heels - eager, attentive, and always part of the moment. They’re more than pets - they’re partners.
